SELLER IS MOTIVATED!
1950 25ft Chris Craft Sportsman: an ultra-rare beauty of a boat – Sold to a Robinson Bay resident in December of 1997. Brought to Minnesota from its original delivery to Cambridge, Maryland, in the spring of 1950. We recently transported her to Minnesota from the care of her owner on Lake Washington in Seattle, WA. She has always been operated and stored with care in fresh water. This rare sedan still has all of its original red leather interior, ventilating windshields, original instrumentation, topside, and deck lumber. The bottom has been restored, and the original Grays Marine 160 H.P. engine replaced. The new converted 454 C.I. 350 H.P. engine has been modified so that, when on a lift, the block drains to protect against freezing. Modern changes, which are excellently incorporated into the look of this 1950 gem, make it a more enjoyable experience and include trim tabs, velvet drive, concealed heater, and a removable back 50 mil window to keep the rain out on those surprising Midwest rain bursts in the middle of the summer. This boat has been in continuous use for the last 21 years. We believe a total of 22 sedans were produced in the total production of 208 boats from 1946 to 1950. The last sixty vessels had been modified at the factory with a two inch wider mid-ship beam and six inch wider transom. This was an answer to some of the wetter earlier boats. It is believed that seven sedans remain. One of Lake Minnetonka’s favorite boats sold at Minnetonka Boat Works, Wayzata, the Chris Craft Dealer. Call for more details on adopting this treasure!
