We are excited to announce that two of Mahogany Bay-restored classic boats have each been declared award-winners at the 2017 10,000 Lakes Concours d’Elegance! The 1955 Chris Craft Cobra won Best in Class for boats from the 1950’s and the 1929 Hacker Craft Dolphin won Best Preserved Overall. Here’s a little more info on both the boats.

1929 Hacker Craft 26′ Dolphin
We are excited to present one of the finest original 26′ Hacker-crafts still in existence, run and used on a regular basis. It has had 4 owners since new. I sold the boat from my collection to the current owner in 1998. Mahogany Bay has serviced this boat by the famed Kermath aficionado Jim Aamodt and has performed flawlessly. We love this boat because of the beautiful original old growth Honduras mahogany. The original instrumentation and original hardware has never been restored. It still floats every season on its original bottom as built in 1929. We know that afficionados who are serious about the remaining 16 examples 26′ Hacker-craft Dolphins will want to see the finest original example on the planet today. I have personally owned more than a dozen original pre-war Hacker-crafts. They are the Steinways of motorboats. As an added feature, this is the sister ship to Hacker-Crafts used by the Excelsior Amusement Park annually since 1995, operated here on Lake Minnetonka. This all-original Hacker-craft has the desirable Kermath Sea Wolf. It was rebuilt ride boat concession that was owned and operated by Bud Jensen who was also the owner of Greenwood Marina.
